The Sons of The American Legion was created in 1932 as an organization within The American Legion. The SAL is made up of boys and men of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the United States military and became eligible for membership in The American Legion.
Sons of The American Legion exists to honor the service and sacrifice of Legionnaires. The SAL of Post 269 is active in providing support to the post events, such as fish fries, burger nights, SAL Taco Night, etc., just to name a few. The SAL also purchases and places the American Flags that are proudly displayed along downtown Haslett on each side of the street.
The SAL hosts a very successful Bowling Fundraiser each year. Over the last 10 years, the SAL has raised $20,000+ for the local Haslett Food Bank, and $3,000+ for the VFW National Home for Children. They have also been very instrumental in setting up ongoing Putterball Tournaments to raise funds for Barney's Bags for Veterans.
